• Aaron Rodgers, the reigning NFL MVP, has partnered with Cash and will receive a portion of his salary in Bitcoin

  • Aaron Rodgers, quarterback of the Green Bay Packers, has announced that he will convert a portion of his salary to Bitcoin. He made the announcement while also announcing a partnership with Square Inc’s Cash App. Rodgers will also be giving away $1 million in Bitcoin as part of the partnership.

    Collaboration with Cash App

Aaron Rodgers announced his partnership with Cash App on Twitter, writing,

“I believe in Bitcoin and believe that the future is bright.” That’s why I’m partnering with Cash App today to take a portion of my salary in bitcoin.”

He also announced the Halloween giveaway in a Halloween-themed video featuring Rodgers dressed as John Wick.

“Bitcoin is a new concept that can be daunting. So, to make it more accessible to my fans, I’m currently giving away $1 million in bitcoin.”

The giveaway will run until November 8th, with the winners receiving $100 in Bitcoin each.

    The Most Recent Crypto Athlete

Rodgers is the most recent professional athlete to enter the crypto space. Saquon Barkley, a running back for the New York Giants, announced in July that he would accept all future endorsement deals in Bitcoin. Lionel Messi, the footballing icon, also revealed in August that he would be receiving a portion of his salary in cryptocurrency.

Tom Brady, quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, purchased an equity stake in cryptocurrency exchange FTX earlier this year. He also exchanged 1 BTC with a fan for his 600th career touchdown ball.

Brady also assisted in the launch of Autograph. Autograph is a platform for non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Brady and longtime friend and teammate Rob Gronkowski assisted in the platform’s launch, and Brady has appeared in commercials for cryptocurrency exchange FTX.

The FTX Partnership of Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen

Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen have also agreed to a long-term partnership with cryptocurrency exchange FTX, which will see the American football player and model-turned-activist acquire an equity stake in the exchange.

The charitable aspect of the partnership was also highlighted in the press release announcing the partnership, with both partners committing to a multi-million dollar annual charitable commitment for the duration of the partnership. Bundchen will also take on the role of Head of Environmental & Social Initiatives at FTX, exploring ways to reduce the exchange’s carbon footprint and focusing on equality and diversity within the company.
