• AC Milan Signs Sponsorship Agreement With Crypto Exchange Bitmex

  • AC Milan and Bitmex have agreed to a long-term partnership in which the cryptocurrency exchange’s logo will appear on Milan’s jerseys. Bitmex will become Milan’s “official sleeve” and “crypto trading” partner as part of the sponsorship agreement.

The Bitmex brand will be featured on the sleeves of Milan’s playing kits.

AC Milan announced on Tuesday that Bitmex, a leading crypto derivatives platform, will be the club’s Official Cryptocurrency Trading Partner. According to a press release on its website, the two parties have agreed on a multi-year sponsorship.

The digital asset exchange will also become the soccer team’s “first-ever Official Sleeve Partner,” according to the agreement. In all competitions, including the UEFA Champions League, the Bitmex brand will appear on the sleeves of both the men’s and women’s team playing kits. The logo will also appear on the sleeve of AQM, Milan’s esports team.

The partners have described the agreement as Bitmex’s first foray into the worlds of football and esports. The exchange is well-known in the cryptocurrency community for providing trading services for cryptocurrency derivatives such as the perpetual swap. Bitmex CEO Alexander Höptner commented on the deal with Milan, saying:

Our collaboration with AC Milan marks the beginning of a hugely exciting new chapter for Bitmex as we seek to raise brand awareness and increase understanding of cryptocurrency.

Höptner praised Milan’s history while acknowledging that “one of the world’s most progressive football clubs” is reaching out to soccer fans all over the world. “We can’t wait to meet the rest of the Rossoneri family around the world,” he added.

“Our red and black shirt represents who we are, and it embodies the passion of the over 500 million AC Milan fans worldwide,” said Casper Stylsvig, AC Milan’s Chief Revenue Officer. “This is a truly exciting partnership and the start of a fantastic journey for both brands and our fans,” he emphasized.

According to the football team, the collaboration with Bitmex will provide its fan base with “access to the increasingly popular cryptocurrency world.” Registered supporters will receive special offers from the cryptocurrency platform, and the exchange will be able to promote digital financial literacy.

The Bitmex logo on the team’s jersey will make its debut in the first game of the new season on Aug. 23, when Milan takes on Sampdoria in Genoa, and again in front of the home crowd in the club’s next match against Cagliari at the San Siro stadium.
