• ACFC Announces NFT Collection With Crypto.com

  • Angel City Football Club (ACFC), Los Angeles’ newest professional soccer team, announced today the debut of the ‘ACFC Inaugural Fan Pass Collection’ — an NFT drop – at crypto.com.

The drop will take place from 8 a.m. PST on April 29th to 9 p.m. PST on May 5th to honor ACFC’s inaugural match.

“We created this NFT collection to commemorate the kickoff of our first season and to use our platform to bring as many ACFC fans as possible into the exciting world of Web3, cryptocurrencies, and NFTs,” said Julie Uhrman, co-founder and president of Angel City Football Club.
She continued: “We believe that ownership is a core tenet of Web3 and why NFTs are so powerful. Upon claiming the NFTs, our fans will own a piece of the team’s history and come on the journey alongside us. This is only the beginning!”

ACFC, the 11th member of the National Women’s Soccer League, will make their debut in the spring of 2022 at Los Angeles’ Banc of California Stadium.

    How to Obtain ACFC NFTs

ACFC’s founding partners, Crypto.com, will give away the first two NFTs from the collection to those who sign up for their NFT marketplace.

The two NFTs available are a ‘Kickoff NFT’ – a digitally styled ACFC soccer ball with the ACFC crest floating within – and a ‘Sol Rosa Kickoff NFTs’ – the same design washed over with ACFC’s characteristic Sol Rosa color.

The ‘Kickoff NFT’ will have an unlimited supply, but the ‘Sol Rosa Kickoff NFT’ will be limited to only 22 units, which will be given away to 22 lucky fans.

Once redeemed, the team will contact NFT holders personally to share access to unique digital items as well as invitations to virtual and real-life events during the season.

“We are incredibly excited to help kick off and celebrate the start of ACFC’s inaugural season,” said Steven Kalifowitz, Chief Marketing Officer, Crypto.com.
“Providing fans more ways to support and engage with their favourite team is central to our relationship with ACFC, and we look forward to continuing to build on this initiative.”

The number 22 is crucial for the new club, which was founded in 2022 and has a stadium capacity of 22,000 people.

Furthermore, ACFC offers a ‘Player 22 Future Program,’ which provides funding to retired NWSL players who are beginning new professions in sports.

The revenues from the NFT drop will be donated to the Player 22 Fund by ACFC.

ACFC was formed by Natalie Portman, an Academy Award-winning actress and activist, Kara Nortman, a technology venture financier, Julie Uhrman, a media and gaming entrepreneur, and Alexis Ohanian, founder of Seven Seven Six and former Executive Chair of Reddit.

Former England Women’s National Team forward Eniola Aluko serves as Sporting Director, and Head Coach Freya Coombe.
