Adidas Originals, a brand of the German sportswear clothing company Adidas, has announced a collaboration with cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase.
“We collaborated with @Coinbase.” “Probably nothing,” Adidas Originals tweeted on Wednesday. Coinbase confirmed its collaboration with “gm @adidasoriginals.” “Welcome to the party, buddy!”
Adidas Originals did not respond to a request for additional information about the collaboration. However, two days before the partnership announcement, the brand expressed interest in the metaverse in a tweet, asking, “adiVerse, anyone?”
“Seeing more companies enter the cryptoeconomy is a very positive development.” “We’re excited to see all of the opportunities for brands in this expanding space,” a Coinbase representative told The Block. More information about the partnership was not provided by the firm.
Non-fungible tokens, or NFTs, are one potential area of focus for Coinbase, which is developing a dedicated service for them. Earlier this year, Adidas announced the organization of an NFT drop with Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
