• Binance appoints a former GE and Edelman executive to the position of Chief Communications Officer

  • Patrick Hillmann, a GE and Edelman veteran, has been named the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchange’s new Chief Communications Officer. Hillmann will oversee Binance’s public affairs division.

The new appointment was announced by the exchange in a press release obtained by ULTCOIN365, which also detailed Hillmann’s new responsibilities. He will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s corporate communications, public affairs, media relations, and stakeholder engagement efforts. He will also collaborate with Binance’s compliance and security teams as the company strives to meet global regulators, which was a growing concern for the exchange earlier this year.”We are collaborating with regulators all over the world to achieve our common goal of protecting users, encouraging innovation, and further establishing the industry.” Patrick’s fifteen years of experience working on global regulatory issues like GDPR will be critical in moving that work forward,” said Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao. Hillmann previously worked as the Global Head of Innovation for Edelman’s crisis and risk practice. Prior to that, he worked in senior government and public affairs positions at General Electric (GE) and the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM).He considers joining Binance to be a “once in a lifetime opportunity” because the company is “truly changing the world.” Previously, the exchange hired a former US Treasury Criminal Investigator to strengthen its regulatory compliance team, and Mark McGinness was appointed as Chief Regulatory Liaison Officer.
