• Blockchain Gaming Usage Increases 2,000% in a Year: DappRadar

  • According to the new DappRadar x BGA Games study, blockchain-based game play has surged 2,000 percent since Q1 of 2021, accounting for 52 percent of all blockchain activity.

In March of this year, blockchain games drew 1.22 million unique active wallets (UAW), with Axie Infinity accounting for 22,000 of those despite the $615 million Ronin Bridge heist.

The popularity of play-to-earn non-fungible token (NFT) games on Ethereum sidechains has been a significant contributor to growth, with platforms such as Crazy Defense Heroes, Pegaxy, Arc8, and Aavegotchi driving a 219 percent increase in Polygon’s gaming activity since the beginning of 2022.

Activity on BSC and Ronin, on the other hand, has decreased since the end of last year as users seek to reduce risk on more volatile chains.

In the first quarter of 2022, a total of $2.5 billion in capital was raised across the sector, a 150 percent increase over the previous quarter. Animoca Brands was among those that made investments, raising $360 million at a $5 billion value as it solidifies its position as one of the major Web 3 brands.
