SingularityNET’s AGIX token holders can now abandon Ethereum in favor of the Cardano blockchain.
Input Output announced on December 7 that its AGIX ERC20 converter is now available in testnet mode.
Tokens in the ERC20 format can be converted and transferred to EMURGO’s Yoroi or Input Output’s Daedalus.
SingularityNET operates as a blockchain-powered artificial intelligence marketplace, with the goal of enabling the seamless monetization of various AI services.
Its utility token, AGI, was first issued on the Ethereum blockchain under the AGI ticker. It was upgraded to Cardano-compatible AGIX in May.
SingularityNET is led by AI pioneer Ben Goertzel, who is best known for his work on the humanoid robot Sophia while serving as chief scientist at Hong Kong-based Hanson Robotics.
According to Goertzel, migrating to Cardano will allow the project to add new functions:
The significance of this port for SingularityNET and the entire blockchain and AI ecosystems cannot be overstated – it will result not only in a far faster and more cost-effective AI network, but also in a vastly superior foundation for adding advanced new functions to SingularityNET and moving toward realizing our vision of decentralized AGI.
SingularityNET and Cardano announced their collaboration in September of last year. The AI project, on the other hand, is not abandoning Ethereum entirely: users will be able to choose their preferred platform.
The Cardano blockchain was integrated into Grace, the SingularityNET humanoid robot nurse that aims to disrupt eldercare, in September.
Input Output is also working on making it possible for users of other blockchains to migrate their tokens to Cardano.
