Cream Finance has reported that it has recovered more than $16 million of funds, roughly a month after being exploited for the second time this year.
Cream Finance, a decentralized finance protocol, suffered another security breach on August 31st, according to ULTCOIN365, with roughly $25 million in ETH and AMP stolen.
At the time, the project’s team promised to look into the matter and provide regular updates.
Cream announced a positive outcome, at least for a large portion of the stolen funds, about a month after the incident.
The team claimed that its complete dedication to recovering the funds resulted in the recovery of over 5,150 ETH. This sum is worth more than $16 million at today’s prices. Despite this, there are still a few million left.
Cream went on to say that those who helped recover the funds were eligible for a 50 percent reward. In addition, the DeFi protocol has honored its traditional 10% bug bounty, allowing the hacker to keep 10% of the funds stolen.
