More on David Fried’s Position on the Aavegotchi Team

Fried is a heavyweight in the industry. To put things in context, his previous projects were huge critical and commercial successes. World of Warcraft, for example, quickly became the most popular MMORPG of all time after its initial release in 2004. In 2010, the game had a peak of 12 million subscribers.

He worked for Blizzard Entertainment for over a decade, designing economy and campaign levels for Warcraft III and The Frozen Throne. He’s also worked on games like Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath, Silent Hill: Homecoming, and Wasteland 3.

In essence, the Aavegotchi team intends to use Fried’s two decades of experience to design key elements of the Gotchiverse Realm. As a result, fans and supporters will soon notice his enchantment in terms of game design, item balance, and narrative structure. Everyone expects him to match and exceed his previous career milestones as the Senior Engineer Game Advisor, or SEGA.

Meanwhile, Fried discussed his design philosophies and beliefs. “Game Design comes down to a logical and empathetic understanding of the player experience, combined with a love for a setting and genre,” he explained. There are correct answers for each genre, style, and platform of game you want to create. To find those answers, I consult my vast knowledge base.”
