The next stage in the evolution of electronic music culture has been announced by pioneering DJ Paul Oakenfold, dance music entrepreneur Alon Shulman, and Input Output Global founder Charles Hoskinson.
They announced today on the Cardano summit stage in Laramie, Wyoming, that Starship Universe will soon release thousands of NFTs on Cardano featuring stunning one-of-a-kind digital art pieces.
Along with the NFT, Universe will release “a very special album,” according to CEO Alon Shulman. The blockchain will be used to store all aspects of the event, from the cover art and sleeve notes to the tracks and remixes. Charles Hoskinson and Paul Oakenfold collaborated on The UniverseTM album Zombie Lobster.
“Learning about the electronic music industry,” said Charles Hoskinson.
and the blockchain’s ability to support it has been a revelation. Understanding how a blockchain such as Cardano can benefit producers and managers such as Alon Shulman, as well as artists such as Paul Oakenfold and Carl Cox.

The magnitude of what they accomplish will allow us to connect our technology to their creativity.
“I’m looking forward to welcoming Starship Universe as it arrives on Cardano and we explore new frontiers together.”
“Connecting with Charles Hoskinson has been a revelation,” Alon Shulman said. He listened, and we listened, and we realized we were speaking the same language and wanted the same things for our industries and the world as a whole. Integrity emerges when the right balance of commerciality and credibility is struck, and it quickly became clear that we share a vision centered on inclusivity and sustainability.
“What began as an idea while standing in the Stonehenge stone circle is now a reality, and I couldn’t be more proud to have co-pilots Paul Oakenfold and Carl Cox aboard Starship Universe as we embark on this voyage beyond the final frontier.”
Cardano was created to redistribute power from unaccountable structures to the margins – to individuals – and to serve as an enabler of positive change and progress.
DJ and producer Carl Cox stated, “I’ve always pushed boundaries.” We progressed from vinyl to CD, then to digital. With our original raves, we were on the outskirts, but now we’re at the forefront with major international festivals. I’ve always known that we’re all the same, even if it takes a while for others to realize it. We promote through word of mouth in dance music; in the tech world, it’s called peer to peer, but it’s the same thing. We both share our creations, which is why this next chapter is so exciting.”
“We live in a technological age,” said Paul Oakenfold. Platforms used to be used for trains, clouds used to be in the sky, and socials were places where people danced. Things move quickly. It’s all about ‘when?’ and ‘where?’ but few people wonder ‘why?’ When you do, it becomes clear what the best course of action is. Alon Shulman asks, “Why?” and then accomplishes the impossible. He always tells me that we are only limited by our imaginations, and with his collaboration with Charles Hoskinson, there is clearly no limit to what we can accomplish together.”
“The creative world is all about collaborations,” said Alon Shulman. Having previously collaborated with DJenerates on their DJ-based NFT drop, where all 10,000 collectibles were sold in less than 24 hours, it made sense to invite them to contribute their backend and digital design expertise to our latest adventure and power Starship Universe.”
