Following the platform’s integration into social media giant TikTok, the price of AUDIO, the native token of decentralized music streaming service Audius, has risen by more than 90%.
According to the crypto metrics platform Nomics, AUDIO was trading at around $3.32 at the time of writing. Notably, the token’s current price is roughly 30% lower than its all-time high of $4.95, set on March 27.
Audius announced a partnership with TikTok yesterday, giving its artists exposure to the social media platform’s 732 million active monthly users.
Audius is now one of the first partners of the media company’s Sound Kit SDK, which allows creators and artists to “seamlessly bring original sounds and music from third-party apps into the TikTok ecosystem.”
Audius artists can now bring their tracks to TikTok so that users can easily add them to their videos using the new feature.
“Today, the workflow for getting songs into TikTok is fairly time-consuming. To avoid it, some artists will hold their phones up to their laptop’s speakers and re-record the sound for TikTok. Artists who have content on Audius can now push it into TikTok with a single click, thanks to the Audius integration,” Roneil Rumburg, Audius co-founder and CEO, told us yesterday.
Popular musicians such as Skrillex, Deadmau5, The Stafford Brothers, 3LAU, Alina Baraz, and others have already joined Audius. It’s not many of them’ the first foray into the crypto world.
Deadmau5, for example, has been active in the non-fungible tokens (NFTs) space in recent months. In December, he launched $100,000 in NFT collectibles in collaboration with Worldwide Asset eXchange.
In another case, the artist collaborated with Mythical Games and its free-to-play NFT-centric game Blankos Block Party.
