• For Transactions, Block’s Bitcoin Wallet Will Include a Fingerprint Sensor

  • According to a business blog post on Friday, payments firm Block (SQ), formerly known as Square, announced that the bitcoin wallet it is developing will support fingerprint sensors for transactions.

“For transactions that involve the use of wallet hardware, we want our clients to be able to unlock their wallets safely yet easily – an improbable combination that has previously not existed in the market,” the business stated in the statement.

The wallet’s hardware will be powered by a rechargeable lithium polymer battery and a USB-C connector.

The wallet will not have a display because Block does not want to create a new interface for clients to learn in order to utilize the wallet.

Block originally disclosed ambitions to develop a bitcoin hardware wallet in July of last year.
