• Gareth Bale has released a collection of National Football League posters featuring his signature and 3D goal recreations

  • On September 28th, Gareth Bale, the Welsh national and Real Madrid champion, will release a limited NFT collection in two styles. According to a press release obtained by Invezz, both will be available on Crypto.com.

The first collection is a poster collection that includes images of Gareth from his entire career. His signature will appear on a few of the NFTs. The second is a futuristic 3D recreation of one of the most memorable moments in the game’s history – his overhead kick back during the 2018 European Champions League Final.

A chance to make memories that will last a lifetime

NFTs, according to the celebrated footballer, are an incredible opportunity to create lasting memories. The collection was created in collaboration with DINES, a British digital artist. DINES has worked on campaigns for Nike, EA Sports, Adidas, Levis, and a variety of other companies. The Velindre Cancer Centre in Wales will receive a portion of the proceeds.

Gareth Bale joined Real Madrid in 2013 for a then-world-record transfer fee of EUR 100.8 million. In his first season, he helped the club win the Copa del Rey and the UEFA Champions League, scoring in both. In May 2006, he made his international debut for Wales. He was the youngest player ever to play for Wales. With 33 international goals and over 90 caps, he has become the country’s all-time leading scorer.

    Gareth had this to say:

“I’m ecstatic to be collaborating with Crypto.com and Dines, a London-based artist, to release my line of NFTs. Over the course of my career, I’ve had the honor of performing in front of adoring crowds all over Europe and the world. Now, I’m excited to give something back to my supporters in the form of digital assets that aren’t available anywhere else. I also see the blockchain and NFT medium as a new way to raise awareness for the causes that matter to me, so a portion of the proceeds from each sale will be donated to Velindre Cancer Centre, which has been providing specialist treatment and supportive care to cancer patients in my community in Wales for over 60 years.”

Joe Conyers III, Executive Vice President and Global Head of NFT at Crypto.com, said:

“Gareth Bale is a legend in the game of football. It’s a historic moment for us to be able to introduce a globally recognized athlete to the NFT space and welcome their fans into our community. We’re honored to collaborate with Gareth and Dines on this collection honoring his illustrious career, and doing so in support of such a worthy cause only adds to the experience.”
