• Grayscale now has $33 billion in cryptocurrency assets under management (AUM)

  • Grayscale, the world’s largest cryptocurrency asset manager, recently issued an update on the company’s digital assets under its custody (AUM). According to the most recent figures, the New York-based crypto asset management firm now manages $33.6 billion in digital assets.

    Grayscale’s most valuable holding is Bitcoin (BTC), which the corporation has over 650,000 of with a total value of over $24 billion. Due to the recent increase in the value of the world’s largest cryptocurrency, the company’s total Bitcoin holdings increased in value. In the last seven days, BTC has risen by nearly 28%.

    The Ethereum (ETH) Trust managed by Grayscale contains over 3 million ETH worth about $7.2 billion. The world’s second-most valuable cryptocurrency, like Bitcoin, has seen significant rises in recent days. In the last seven days, the price of ETH has increased by 29%. Grayscale is one of Ethereum’s largest institutional investors. In the previous six months, the digital asset manager has dramatically increased its ETH holdings.

    Grayscale’s total cryptocurrency assets under management reached an all-time high of $52 billion in May 2021. Due to the recent drop in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other cryptocurrency assets, the company’s crypto AUM has decreased since then. To diversify its portfolio, the business launched numerous new bitcoin investment trusts in March 2021. Grayscale and CoinDesk Indexes introduced a Decentralized Finance (DeFi) fund and index earlier this month.
