• IN PARTNERSHIP WITH COINCORNER, OXFORD CITY FOOTBALL CLUB WILL ACCEPT BITCOIN

  • Oxford City Football Club in England will begin taking bitcoin payments at its RAW Charging Stadium.

CoinCorner entered into a multi-year agreement with the football team.

CoinCorner will also sponsor the back of the shirt, allowing Oxford to promote its Lightning-enabled Bolt Card.

According to a press release, the Oxford City Football Club, a sixth-tier national club headquartered in the United Kingdom, has collaborated with CoinCorner to begin taking bitcoin as payment.

Fans of the club will be able to spend bitcoin on tickets as well as food and beverages, and CoinConer’s recently announced Bolt Card – a Lightning Network-enabled NFC card – will be supported.

“It’s exciting to see the club become the first adopters of bitcoin payments in the National League,” said CoinCorner CEO, Danny Scott. “We believe this move will set a trend across Non-League and Football League divisions as digital currency establishes itself as the new normal for sports fans and event goers across the UK.”

In addition, to commemorate the newly formed collaboration, CoinCorner is selling a limited number of Oxford City FC branded Bolt Cards in the club’s shop. CoinCorner will also be the club’s back-of-the-shirt sponsor. Finally, CoinCorner will be the match day sponsor for Oxford’s Vanarama National League South encounter against Eastbourne Borough on Saturday, August 6th at the RAW Charging Stadium.
