• Manchester City FC and Puma Have Joined Forces To Launch An NFT Collection

  • This one is for Manchester City fans! The 93:20 NFT collection is being released by Manchester City in collaboration with Puma and digital artist Musketon. The drop will take place on Friday, May 13th, at 8pm UK Time at the MakersPlace NFT marketplace.

    Keeping ’93:20′ in Mind

Manchester City is releasing their fourth NFT collection to commemorate the 10th anniversary of their first Premier League triumph and the memorable 93:20 moment. If you happened to miss one of Manchester City’s most momentous days, here’s how it went down.

They were down 2-1 late in the game against QPR, and fans were beginning to lose faith. But, two minutes into injury time, at 91:14, Edin Dzeko rose and buried his header beyond the keeper to tie the game. As the game entered the 93rd minute, spectators and staff members were hugging and preparing to leave, but City players were not done. Sergio Aguero breaks through a space and steals the ball from Mario Balotelli, and then…

At 93:20, Aguero hits the ball cleanly, the net bulges, and the Etihad Stadium erupts! Smiles, hugs, and tears of delight flooded the stadium and Man City fans worldwide. Whether you like cities or not, this one was interesting.

Puma x Manchester City x Musketon

Musketon answered yes right away when Manchester City approached him about joining this initiative. He was proud to be a part of the club’s great football history and the club’s historic goal. He adds his distinct visual artistic flair to this NFT, experimenting with the essence of time to represent 93:20. The artwork also includes Puma’s ULTRA Football Boots, which will be available on the same day as the NFT.

Only 120 pairs will be made in honor of the goal. The 93:20 images may be seen on the outside of the boots. Furthermore, the footbed features the commentator’s iconic ‘Agueroooooooo!’ phrase. This Puma boot features the same color palette as Sergio Aguero’s original PUMA v1.11 football footwear.

    Previous City NFTs

This is not the club’s first foray into the NFT arena. In May 2021, Manchester City released their first collection with Jon Noorlander to honor their Premier League title win. Following that, they released their second album with Alan Bolton. The Creation drop is an abstract picture of the process of developing the ideal footballer. Then they formed a collaboration with Sony Corporation to create a metaverse replica of Etihad Stadium. MakersPlace has a list of all of the football club’s previous NFTs.

For Manchester City fans, receiving an NFT means becoming a part of the iconic experience. Don Dransfield, CEO of City, underlines the company’s commitment to the blockchain and NFT area. They will also continue to work with famous skilled creators and their numerous club partners.
