Megadeth, the iconic thrash metal band, has released an NFT collection, marking their entry into the web3 industry. The “Rattleheads” collection, named after the band’s mascot Vic Rattlehead, honors the band’s four-decade career with generative images and ideas.
Megadeth Releases NFT Collection Based On Brand Mascot
Megadeth’s mascot, Vic Rattlehead, is a skeletal creature dressed in a suit. It is a censoring emblem as well as the saying “See no evil, hear no evil, say no evil.”
It also has metal covers on its ears, a sealed mouth, and a bonded visor to protect its eyes.
Meanwhile, Megadeth has joined the web3 community as a new member. The band, which has been performing for the past 40 years, has released its “Rattleheads” generative NFT collection.
The collection was produced by Upper Echelon Studios and Five to One Collective. However, the collection’s art content was donated by their fan club, Cyber Army.
Classic imagery and themes from the band’s 40-year existence are included in the collection. Megadeth is also one of the world’s most popular metal bands.
According to the band’s frontman, Dave Mustaine, he has been working hard to assure the band’s success. He went on to say that their debut record highlighted their meteoric rise to fame.
Megadeth is intrigued by Web3 technology.
Mustaine remarked that they were the first music band to launch a website. As a result, they have always been intrigued by new technology. Furthermore, the band’s 2016 album, Dystopia, included a full VR experience.
Mustaine also stated that the introduction of web3 technology represents a huge potential for the band to communicate with their fans. The group’s most recent album sold approximately 48,000 copies in the United States.
This figure was obtained only during the first week of sales. It also peaked at number three on Billboard’s 200 chart.
Megadeth is the latest music group to enter the NFT industry, according to recent developments. The famed artist Pharrell Williams was appointed as Doodles’ chief brand officer earlier this year.
Doodles is a well-known NFT project that has evolved rapidly. The project was valued at more than $704 million earlier this week. This came after it received $54 million in refund funding.
