• Moonstake, a cryptocurrency staking platform, has joined IBM’s startup incubator program

  • Moonstake, a staking pool protocol with a B2B services platform, announced today that it has been invited to be a Friend of IBM’s Hyper Protect Accelerator, a mentorship program that provides top-tier data protection, privacy, and security solutions to global tech startups.

Over the last two years, the IBM Hyper Protect Accelerator has supported 45 of the most exciting and globally renowned fintech, health tech, and insurtech startups. This year, they hope to increase this number to 100, providing even more opportunities to global tech startups from a broader range of industries such as music, education, legal, and decentralized technology.

The program is co-hosted by Village Capital, which has helped over 1,000 early-stage entrepreneurs through its programs. Village Capital manages the business mentorship aspect of the program’s support services in this accelerator initiative, while IBM leads technical enablement.

Startups were chosen through a multi-step process that evaluated applications based on data security requirements, use cases, product-market fit, size, age, and ability to build and scale. Before being accepted into the Cohorts and Friends of Hyper Protect, finalist companies went through multiple interviews and were evaluated on both technical and business factors.

Moonstake’s total staking assets have grown to $1.5 billion following the launch of a full-scale operation in August 2020. Moonstake currently supports 12 staking coins, the most widely used non-fungible token (NFT) standard, and is collaborating with Muse Finance to enter the DeFi market.

“I am delighted to inform you that Moonstake has joined the IBM Friends of Hyper Protect Program. This has been an ongoing series of discussions with IBM and Village Capital for several months, and we are pleased to see the formal announcement from IBM during their Z Day global event.
