Phunware (PHUN), a mobile cloud software company, announced Monday that it had purchased an additional 398 bitcoins for approximately $23.8 million in cash at an average price of approximately $59,917 per bitcoin, including fees.
- According to a statement issued Monday, the Austin, Texas-based firm now holds approximately 529 bitcoin at an average purchase price of approximately $60,191 per bitcoin.
- Last week, Phunware announced that it would begin processing initial issuances of PhunCoin, which will be traded on Securitize. In late October, the company announced that it would begin accepting bitcoin as payment.
- In early trading on Monday, Phunware shares were down more than 3% to $3.57.
