According to a new survey, the meme-inspired cryptocurrency Shiba Inu ($SHIB) and smart contract platform Cardano ($ADA) are among the most ‘Googled’ cryptocurrencies in Europe, outperforming competitors with higher market capitalization.
While Bitcoin ($BTC), Ethereum ($ETH), BNB ($BNB), and XRP ($XRP) are the top five cryptocurrencies by market capitalization (excluding altcoins), these were not the top five most Googled cryptocurrencies in Europe, at least not in that order.
According to an AskGamblers survey, Bitcoin is the most searched cryptocurrency in Europe, with 21 nations searching for BTC more than any other cryptocurrency. Germany, Poland, and Belgium are among them.
Shiba Inu ($SHIB), a meme-inspired cryptocurrency, came in second, with seven countries Googling for it more than any other digital asset. SHIB’s lead came from countries such as the United Kingdom, Russia, France, and Italy.
According to a different survey, Shiba Inu was the third-most Googled cryptocurrency last year, trailing only Bitcoin and Ethereum. The study was based on average monthly services over leading a country’s searches.
Ethereum came in third, with four countries searching for it, making it the third most searched-for cryptocurrency. Cardano ($ADA) finished fourth, with the Netherlands, Bulgaria, and Andorra preferring it to competition.
According to the survey, Dogecoin ($DOGE) was the fifth most searched-for cryptocurrency in Europe, with searches leading in both Greece and Albania. Notably, neither BNB nor XRP ranked first in any European country.
The study used data from Google Trends, which does not disclose precise search statistics but does provide an index indicating interest in specific search topics and allowing users to gauge their popularity in comparison to other searches.
