Shiba Inu may soon shift its focus to blockchain gaming, heralding a watershed moment that is expected to significantly reduce the number of tokens in circulation, sending prices higher.
According to Shytoshi Kusama, one of the token’s leading developers, the development, which he referred to as the “future of gaming,” was poised to be a game-changer in the industry.
Former Activision Vice President to Lead Games Division
Although gaming is not an entirely new concept, according to Kusama, who revealed that the idea had already been envisioned by Shiba Inu’s founder Ryoshi, the team had not begun seriously considering bringing the concept to life until now.
On that note, the team sought the assistance of celebrated game developer and former VP of Technology at Activision, William David Volk, in developing AAA games.
“I am honored to be working with such an incredible team on what will be one of the most important games of all time.” William David Volk stated.
Kusama stated in a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) signed between the parties last month that it was the only sure way to create a figure game worthy of “FriendShibs” while also providing the team with a competitive advantage over all other gaming, “metaverse,” and NFT system clones.
Creating Shiba Inu Games
According to Kusama, the first version of the Shiboshi game will be developed by a group of contractors and consultants led by William and will be primarily available for mobile devices.
He also mentions that once completed, the initial blockchain-based game will be solely licensed to the Shiba Inu decentralized team for use on Shibarium, a layer-2 network in development that is set to significantly improve nominal fees for services, games, or products built on it.
It is also expected that the fees generated by the in-app purchases for the games will provide opportunities for SHIB and Leash burns, positively impacting the token’s value.
“Is there a Metaverse for Shib?”
While Kusama isn’t entirely sold on Meta’s concept of the metaverse, given the privacy scandals surrounding Facebook, the idea of a virtual world excites him.
“I believe that in order for a “metaverse” to be more than a bent infinity symbol and a way to extract your data, it must provide real value to users, and doing so necessitates a certain foundation that is built prior to the release of the technology,” he says.
He hints at The Shiba Inu Core Devs (SICD) working on developing its metaverse known as “Oshiverse” at the request of Guardians of Shib.
“We are working on many aspects of Shiba Inu, such as Shibarium, Shi, Shibanet, The Decentralized Shiboshi Game, Incubator, and much more that will not be visible until the near future.” The combination of these elements, when combined with Ethereum as the core, will ensure the success of a new Shiba Universe unrivaled by any token or corporation.” He goes on.
