  • Shiba Inu are now accepted in thousands of restaurants in over 65 countries, thanks to a new collaboration between Lavu and Verifone.

Lavu, a global restaurant software and payments solution provider, and Verifone, a payment solution provider, have announced a new cross-distribution partnership that will integrate Lavu’s restaurant software suite with Verifone’s payment solutions, benefiting customers of both Lavu and Verifone.

The strategic alliance aims to enable Verifone and Lavu to provide their customers with a unified point of sale (POS) and payment experience that includes cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, and several USD stablecoins are available to both sets of customers via popular crypto wallets and other payment platforms such as PayPal, Venmo, WeChat Pay, Klarna, Swish, and Vipps.

Customers who pay with cryptocurrencies select their preferred advanced payment method on the Verifone terminal and complete the transaction with their mobile device. Lavu has restaurant partners in over 65 countries, while Verifone is known for its growing footprint of 35 million devices in over 150 countries.

Shiba Inu teases a Red Bull collaboration

Shytoshi Kusama, Shiba Inu’s lead developer, recently tweeted about a conversation with energy drink brand Red Bull, saying, “Thank you for talking about everything, SHIB.@redbull! I hope to speak with you more in the future.” The tweet also included a GIF of a man gliding through the air while wearing a Red Bull helmet.

Shytoshi did not provide many details, but the tweet could imply that discussions for future collaboration are ongoing. Shiba Inu collaborations with the food industry are not new; in early February, SHIB announced its partnership with Welly’s, a fast-food joint based in Naples, Italy. As of press time, Red Bull had not provided any official confirmation.
