  • The president of the e-commerce firm, Steve Ashley, announced this past weekend at the Market America Worldwide Shop.com 2021 International Convention (MAIC2021) that Shop.com sites around the world will accept cryptocurrencies via Bitpay. This means that Shop.com’s websites accept bitcoin, ethereum, bitcoin cash, and a variety of other digital assets for payment.

Bitpay Now Accepts Digital Currencies on Shop.com

Shop.com accepts cryptocurrencies through Bitpay, the world’s largest crypto payment service provider. Shop.com’s president and COO, Steve Ashley, announced the “use of cryptocurrency as the next chapter in purchasing products on all Shop.com sites.” Ashley announced cryptocurrency support at the Market America Worldwide Shop.com 2021 International Convention (MAIC2021).

“Today, I’m excited to announce that Shop.com will be accepting bitcoin, ethereum, and several other cryptocurrencies through Bitpay,” Ashley said. Ashley added, “We’re going to offer this at Shop.com sites worldwide in all of our Market Countries.”

According to similarweb.com statistics, Shop.com is a fairly popular e-commerce web portal that ranks 26,133 globally and 191 among “E-commerce and shopping” websites. Market America, a multi-level marketing (MLM) company founded in 1992, owns Shop.com. At the end of 2010, Market America bought Shop.com for an undisclosed sum. Market America also manufactures Isotonix, which it introduced to the public the year after the company was founded.

“Shop.com and Market America are such great brands,” Bitpay’s chief commercial officer Sonny Singh said in a statement to Bitcoin.com News. “What I like best about them as a great fit is your international presence. The fact that you only do 40% of your business in America shows that you have a truly global brand,” Singh added. The Bitpay chief commercial officer went on to say:

Payments are extremely difficult in countries such as Taiwan, Thailand, Argentina, Brazil, and Indonesia. Credit cards are not accepted everywhere, so BitPay and crypto are the cheapest and fastest ways to accept Bitcoin and receive crypto payment options in those countries.

Shop.com, according to JR Ridinger, the founder and CEO of Market America, continues to be a trendsetter thanks to Steve Ashley’s leadership. “As different online retailers scramble to create a plan of action to implement things like accepting cryptocurrency as a method of online payment, we’ve already done that thanks to Steve Ashley,” Ridinger said.

When you visit the Shop.com website, you will notice a newly added message about crypto acceptance. The message directs users to a page that explains how Shop.com customers can use the Bitpay cryptocurrency payment system to pay for items. Customers of Shop.com can also “earn cashback on thousands of products with Bitpay,” according to the website.
