The Burning Man Project is bringing its unique artistic vision to Sotheby’s auction house.
The collection, titled “Boundless Space: The Possibilities of Burning Man,” celebrates the festival’s artistic vision, drawing inspiration from the free-spirited, progressive style of the much-discussed phenomenon. The artworks represent creative expressions from within the close-knit community.
A diverse collection of multicultural artworks inspired by the annual event is being auctioned off. There will be a diverse range of sculptures, ephemera, experiences, mutant vehicles, and NFTs on display.
Burning Man plans to reinvest all proceeds from the sale back into the art community. As a result, participating artists are supported, and future endeavors are funded to help fund additional civic engagement programs.
An online auction will be held in conjunction with a public exhibition at Sotheby’s gallery in New York. Both will run from September 30 to October 8, with active bidding for items beginning at 11 a.m. on the first day.
