• The NFT market Rarible collaborates with Immutable to expand its gaming NFT capabilities

  • The Ethereum L2 scaling protocol Immutable X was used by the NFT marketplace Rarible to allow players to buy and trade NFTs from Gods Unchained, Guild of Guardians, Illuvium, and other prominent blockchain-based games built on Immutable X.

Rarible co-founder Alex Salnikov said that this is not the company’s first foray into selling gaming NFTs, as game assets from Polygon and Solana have previously been accessible on the site. However, Rarible’s integration with Immutable X brings assets from one of the most popular blockchain-based game protocols, as well as assets from some of the longest-running blockchain-based games, such as Gods Unchained, to the NFT platform.

While Gods Unchained never achieved the popularity of other blockchain-based games such as Axie Infinity or Sorare, The data shows that the competitive card game reached a peak trading volume of $6.32 million in January of this year.

Immutable X, developed by blockchain gaming company Immutable, enables NFTs to be sold fast and for a cheap transaction fee. Immutable X has a specific emphasis on blockchain-based gaming assets, with GameStop electing to adopt the protocol for its NFT marketplace.

Rarible is now a more formidable competitor to Fractal, which was founded by Twitch co-founder Justin Kan, and other gaming-focused NFT marketplaces.
