• The petition to list Shiba Inu ($SHIB) on Robinhood is approaching 250,000 signatures

  • Shiba Inu ($SHIB) supporters have signed a petition requesting that the popular meme-inspired cryptocurrency be listed on the commission-free trading platform Robinhood (NASDAQ: HOOD).

At the time of publication, the petition, titled “Kindly request of Robinhood to list Shiba Inu coin,” had received over 241,600 signatures from supporters and was on its way to 300,000. It mentions Dogecoin ($DOGE), a rival meme-inspired cryptocurrency that has been a “huge success” for the trading platform.

While the cryptocurrency community rallies behind a Shiba Inu listing, Robinhood has responded to another call from the cryptocurrency community: wallets that allow users to freely move funds on-chain. Robinhood has already begun beta testing for these wallets, and over a million people have joined their waitlist.

We just hit 1 million people on the wallets waitlist 😎We’re hard at work… stay tuned.— Robinhood (@RobinhoodApp) October 4, 2021

Christine Hall, the company’s chief operating officer, stated on social media that Robinhood is taking too long to launch wallets because the company wants to ensure that “transferring crypto on Robinhood is safe, secure, and simple.” Many people will be transacting on-chain for the first time, and ensuring the safety of your coins is our top priority.”

Hall went on to say that wallets are “just the beginning of our commitment to making crypto accessible to all,” and that the company has begun making recurring investments in cryptocurrencies. According to CryptoGlobe, Robinhood listing Dogecoin was extremely beneficial to the company, as its revenue increased as a result of this year’s DOGE trading frenzy.

Shiba Inu is already available on several popular cryptocurrency trading platforms, including Binance and Coinbase. Earlier this month, the cryptocurrency briefly surpassed the popularity of BTC and DOGE on social media.

Last week, the number of token holders on the SHIB blockchain surpassed 700,000, an achievement that the community celebrated on social media.
