• This Electronic Store Might Accept Shiba Inu (SHIB) Payments Soon

  • Newegg, the crypto-famous online electronics retailer, has piqued the Shiba Inu community’s interest with an exclusive tweet mentioning the developer Shytoshi Kusama, as well as SHIB’s official Twitter account, seeking a conversation. Since that tweet, the Shiba Inu community on Twitter has flooded the market with rumors of yet another commercial behemoth accepting $SHIB as payment.

This crypto-friendly online electronics retailer accepts SHIB’s competitor, Dogecoin ($DOGE), as well as the original Bitcoin. Other tokens accepted at Newegg include Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Ether, Wrapped BTC, Dai, and stablecoins such as BUSD, USDC, GUSD, and PAX.

Newegg had already made a name for itself in crypto news earlier this week with its Black Friday deal that included a crypto discount. The retail behemoth announced a 20% discount on products purchased with cryptocurrency via BitPay in a number of countries, including the United Kingdom, Australia, and the United Arab Emirates. This crypto discount, however, will only be available on orders of $500 or more, with discounts of up to $200. CPUs, graphics cards, hard drives, and monitors will all be eligible for the offer.

AMC Theatres Accept Shiba Inu Payments

Shiba Inu is not Shiba Inu’s first foray into the commercial world. AMC, the largest movie theater chain in the United States, confirmed earlier this week that it will accept Shiba Inu payments in addition to Bitcoin, Ethereum, and several other cryptocurrencies. This Tuesday, AMC CEO Adam Aron tweeted about the theater chain’s exclusive crypto venture with Shiba Inu in collaboration with the crypto payment processing service provider, BitPay. Shiba Inu can now be used to pay for movie tickets and concessions online at AMC, making the movie theater chain BitPay’s first client to accept Shiba Inu. With plans to launch its own token soon, AMC is determined to become a landmark in the decentralized industry.

“I can confirm today that we have been exploring with third parties over the past few months both how we can accept cryptocurrency and if it is feasible for AMC to consider even launching our own cryptocurrency,” Aron said.
