The Shiba Inu community appears to be courting billionaire Jeff Bezos to start patronizing SHIB because the world’s wealthiest person, Elon Musk, refuses to do so and only accepts Dogecoin.
SHIB asks Amazon for new signatures on a petition.
Three petitions on Change.org have currently received approximately 173,373 signatures:
“SHIB4Amazon – Request that Amazon accept SHIB as payment” – signed by 47,526 people.
“Kindly request Amazon begin accepting SHIBA INU as a form of payment” – 44,878 signatures.
“Please accept Shiba Inu cryptocurrency as payment for Amazon products and services” – 80,969 people signed the petition.
Justin Taylor, the person who started the petition with the most signatures so far, wrote on the petition’s Change.org page that the SHIB community wants Amazon to seriously consider accepting SHIB for goods and services on its platform.
He believes that if it occurs, it will benefit both Shiba Inu owners and Amazon.
Since its inception, Amazon has changed the world numerous times. We respectfully request that Amazon do so once more by accepting Shiba Inu.
The number of signatures on the petition to have SHIB listed by Robinhood has now reached 479,162.
Elon Musk has rejected SHIB, but what about Jeff Bezos?
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and a big Dogecoin fan, recently rejected Shiba Inu, stating that he does not own any of it.
This has apparently turned the SHIB community away from the person who is building space rockets aimed at Mars and has caused them to look for another patron. One might think that by launching petitions for Amazon, the community is hoping that another powerful and “space-flying” billionaire will become interested in the meme coin.
However, Bezos intends to step down as Amazon CEO later this year, handing over the position to Andy Jassy. Besides, Jeff has yet to be caught tweeting about cryptocurrency—unless he has been quietly hoarding Bitcoin or Doge.
