• Was the Azuki NFT Airdrop Prank the Best April Fools’ Day Joke Ever?

  • Depending on who you ask, this is either one of the best April Fools’ Day pranks ever or just plain evil. The Azuki team announced a surprise airdrop of two NFTs for each Azuki NFT a few days ago at the Garden Party. This news had the Azuki community on the edge of their seats, only to be met with a pile of dirt the next morning. No, I mean literally, the original gif was converted into an image of a pile of dirt. So you now have TWO piles of dirt for every Azuki NFT you own.

This discovery continues to astound the owners. On the plus side, these dirt mounds are still actively trading on OpenSea. Despite the unfortunate change, the ‘Something Official’ NFT has a floor price of 4.974 ETH. The total volume traded at the time of writing is 8.6k ETH and counting. Furthermore, the collection description still states:’something is on the way…’ Is the episode finished or not?

Is the Azuki NFT Airdrop Legit or a Scam?

Previously, the Azuki airdrop sparked a wave of bullish sentiment as the Azuki NFTs saw a rise in their floor price. While many members of the community are either frustrated by their misfortune or laughing at the whole thing, speculation is beginning to brew.

A Twitter user believes it is soil rather than plain dirt, implying that something is growing. Another Twitter user highlighted the ‘IKZ’ markings on the box before it became a pile of dirt. Another says dirt equals land, possibly in the Azuki metaverse. Among all the theories, the plethora of memes circulating on Twitter will undoubtedly brighten your day.
