• Wormhole Makes a $10 Million Offer to Ethereum Thieves

  • Hackers stole approximately $320 million in cryptocurrency from Wormhole, a bridge between Solana and other DeFi blockchain networks, on Wednesday. The online thieves stole 120,000 wETH, also known as wrapped Ether.

The hackers then converted 93,750 of it into Ethereum and moved it to a different wallet.

Wormhole is offering a $10 million reward.

Wormhole is now offering $10 million to anyone who provides “information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for last week’s theft” five days after the heist.

Wormhole reiterated its “white hat” $10 million offer to the robbers in exchange for the safe return of stolen funds. Furthermore, the platform offered a $10 million reward for information leading to the arrest of the threat actors.

In a blog post on its official website, the platform stated, “A $10,000,000 reward is offered for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the Wormhole hack on February 2, 2022, or the recovery of the stolen assets.” “The white hat offer of $10,000,000 remains open for the timely return of the funds.” You can get in touch with us at bounty@wormholenetwork.com.”

Wormhole hacking adds to a slew of issues for Solana, the blockchain with lower transaction fees than primary rival Ethereum. Solana was down for 17 hours last fall due to trading software bots attacks, which also recently degraded network performance.
